Highmark BCBS in western PA is excellent. They dominate the market here and have strong relationships with all the major hospital systems. Claims are processed smoothly and customer service has been consistently helpful. The app is modern and easy to use. Would recommend to anyone in their coverage area.

As someone who works in healthcare I appreciate that their prior auth process is more reasonable than most. My colleagues in other states complain about auth delays constantly but Highmark has been relatively painless. Good formulary too.

Highmark in PA and WV is a solid choice. The network includes virtually every provider in the region. Premiums are competitive and the coverage is comprehensive. Their wellness programs are actually pretty good with real incentives for preventive care.
