Brought my grandmother to the ER after she became confused and weak. The geriatric assessment was thorough. They diagnosed a UTI which apparently causes confusion in elderly patients - something I didn't know. She was treated with IV antibiotics and observed overnight. The nurses were patient with her and explained things in simple terms. She went home the next day feeling much better.
