Had a bad reaction to a medication and went to the ER. They recognized the symptoms immediately and started treatment right away. The ER doctor consulted with a specialist by phone who provided guidance. I was monitored for several hours before being discharged. The follow-up plan was clear and my PCP was notified automatically through the system. Efficient emergency care.

The children's wing has murals on every wall. Less intimidating for kids.

We had twins born prematurely at this hospital - 31 weeks, 3 pounds each. The NICU became our second home for 6 weeks. I want other NICU parents to know what to expect here. The NICU is Level III with individual rooms for each baby, which was wonderful for privacy and bonding. The neonatologists rounded daily and sat with us weekly for care conferences. Every nurse was specialized in neonatal care and they rotated our babies' primary nurses to maintain consistency. Kangaroo care was encouraged from the start. They had a breast pump in our room and the lactation consultant helped me establish supply for two babies, which is no small feat. The developmental care approach meant the environment was kept dark and quiet during rest times and stimulation was age-appropriate. Our babies hit every milestone on the expected timeline. The social worker connected us with a NICU parent support group that met weekly in the hospital - hearing from parents who had been through it was invaluable. Ronald McDonald House provided a room for us since we lived over an hour away. When the babies were ready for discharge, the nurses spent a full day teaching us CPR, car seat safety, feeding schedules, and what signs to watch for. We went home exhausted but prepared. Both babies are now healthy 18-month-olds who show no lasting effects of their early arrival. This NICU is exceptional in every way.
