Terms of Service
Last updated: May 24, 2026
Your agreement matters to us. By accessing scrubinformer.com (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.
1. About Scrub Informer
Scrub Informer is a review platform that helps healthcare workers — including travel nurses, allied health travelers, staff workers, residents, and other healthcare professionals — share honest workplace experiences about healthcare facilities, departments, and staffing agencies.
Our mission is to create transparency in healthcare workplaces through honest reviews from people with firsthand experience.
Platform Status Under Section 230
Scrub Informer is an interactive computer service as defined by Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (47 U.S.C. § 230). We host user-generated content but do not author or endorse the reviews posted by our users. We are protected from liability for content posted by third parties under federal law.
Not a Legal or Grievance Service
Scrub Informer is not a legal service, a regulatory body, an employment tribunal, or a formal grievance channel. Posting a review on this Site is not a substitute for reporting workplace violations to appropriate authorities (such as state nursing boards, OSHA, EEOC, or your employer’s HR or compliance function). If you believe you have witnessed illegal conduct, patient harm, or workplace violations, you should report these through appropriate official channels. Use of the Site does not create an attorney-client relationship.

4. Posting Reviews and Comments
Good Faith Reviews
You agree that all reviews you post are based on your own personal workplace experience and reflect your honest opinion at the time of posting. We support our users’ rights to share truthful reviews under the First Amendment and applicable consumer review fairness laws (including the Consumer Review Fairness Act, 15 U.S.C. § 45b).
What You Can Post
- Honest reviews based on your personal workplace experience at a facility or with an agency
- Constructive feedback about facilities, departments, or agencies
- Comments that contribute to meaningful discussion among healthcare workers
- Factual information about your contract, role, dates of service, and experiences
What You CANNOT Post
- False information or fake reviews you know to be untrue
- Defamatory content made with knowledge of falsity or reckless disregard for truth
- Protected health information (PHI) about specific patients
- Personal information about coworkers, managers, or other individual staff members (full names, home addresses, phone numbers, license numbers, social media profiles)
- Harassment, threats, or doxxing toward any person or entity
- Spam or promotional content
- Sexually explicit content
- Hate speech or discrimination based on race, gender, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics
- Copyrighted material you don’t have rights to use
- Reviews of places you have not personally worked
- Reviews posted by, or on behalf of, the reviewed entity or its competitors (no astroturfing, no smear campaigns)
HIPAA and Patient Privacy
⚠️ Important for Healthcare Workers:
Healthcare workers must not share Protected Health Information (PHI) about specific patients in their reviews, including:
- Patient names, initials, or other directly identifying details
- Medical record numbers, room numbers, or account numbers
- Specific medical conditions, diagnoses, or treatments tied to identifiable patients
- Photos, screenshots, dates, or locations that could identify a specific patient
- Information that could allow a third party to identify a specific patient when combined with other available information
You can discuss general workplace conditions, staffing patterns, management practices, unit culture, and patient population characteristics (e.g., “high-acuity Level I trauma center” or “primarily geriatric population”) without violating patient privacy. You are responsible for ensuring your reviews comply with HIPAA and any employment confidentiality obligations you may have.
Employment Considerations
Healthcare workers should be aware that their employers may have non-disparagement clauses, social media policies, or confidentiality agreements that affect what they can post publicly. Scrub Informer cannot advise you on your specific employment situation. We encourage you to review your employment agreements and consult an attorney if you have concerns. While we generally do not disclose user identities, we may be required to do so in response to valid legal process.
5. Content Moderation and Takedown Requests
We reserve the right to:
- Review flagged content
- Edit or remove content that violates these Terms
- Remove reviews we believe are fake, manipulated, or coordinated
- Suspend or ban users who repeatedly violate our policies
We are not obligated to monitor all content but respond to credible reports from our community.
Reporting Content (Users)
If you see content that violates these Terms, please flag it or email support@scrubinformer.com with:
- Link to the content
- Reason for reporting
- Any relevant details
Takedown Requests (Reviewed Entities)
If you are a healthcare facility, staffing agency, or representative of one and believe a review about your organization violates these Terms or applicable law, you may submit a takedown request to support@scrubinformer.com. Your request must include:
- The specific review URL
- Your name, title, and authority to represent the organization
- The specific reason the review violates these Terms (e.g., contains PHI, is demonstrably false, contains threats, etc.)
- Any supporting evidence
Negative reviews are not removed solely because they are negative. We do not remove honest reviews based on personal experience simply because the reviewed entity disagrees with them. We will only remove content that demonstrably violates these Terms or applicable law. We reserve the right to publicly note that a review was the subject of a takedown request.
6. Intellectual Property Rights
Your Content
When you post a review or comment:
- You retain ownership of your content
- You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to display, distribute, modify, reproduce, and use your content on the Site and in connection with our services
- This license survives the termination of your account, including for content that remains on the Site
- We may use your content for marketing or promotional purposes related to the Site
Future Changes to Data Use
Scrub Informer does not currently sell or license aggregated review data to third parties. If we change our practices in the future to include the licensing or sale of aggregated, de-identified review data, we will update these Terms and our Privacy Policy and notify users before implementing any such practices.
Our Content
All other content on the Site (design, code, logos, graphics) is owned by Scrub Informer and protected by copyright laws. You may not:
- Copy, reproduce, or distribute our content without permission
- Use our logo or branding without authorization
- Scrape, harvest, or use automated tools to extract data from the Site without our written permission
7. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
No Medical, Legal, or Professional Advice
Scrub Informer is not a medical, legal, financial, or professional advisory service. Reviews on this Site reflect the personal experiences and opinions of individual users. They are not:
- Medical advice or recommendations for treatment
- Legal advice
- Employment counseling or career advice
- Endorsements of any specific facility or agency
Always consult qualified professionals — attorneys, recruiters, mentors, or other licensed experts — for important decisions about your employment, contracts, or career. Reviews should be one factor among many in your decision-making, not the sole basis for any significant decision.
Content Accuracy
Reviews reflect individual user opinions, not verified facts. We don’t guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of user-generated content. While we take reasonable steps to remove fake or manipulated reviews, we cannot verify every claim made by every user.
No Reliance
You acknowledge that you will not solely rely on reviews on the Site when making important decisions about employment, contracts, or any other matter. Your decisions are your own, and you assume full responsibility for them.

We provide the Site “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don’t guarantee:
- Uninterrupted access
- Error-free operation
- Security from viruses or malware

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scrub Informer, its owners, employees, and affiliates are not liable for:

- Damages resulting from user-generated content (whether posted by you or others)
- Damages from unauthorized access to your account
- Damages from decisions made based on Site content
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site shall not exceed one hundred US dollars ($100) or the amount you paid us in the past twelve months, whichever is greater.

Please note that under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly makes a material misrepresentation in a DMCA notice may be liable for damages.
11. Dispute Resolution
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Informal Resolution
Before filing any formal claim, you agree to first contact us at support@scrubinformer.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
Binding Arbitration
If informal resolution fails, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will take place in the State of Oregon or, at your election, by telephone or online.
- You waive the right to a jury trial
- You waive the right to participate in class actions, class arbitrations, or representative actions
- The arbitrator’s decision will be final and binding
Exceptions
Either party may bring claims in small claims court (if eligible) or seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property disputes or breaches of confidentiality.
30-Day Right to Opt Out of Arbitration
You may opt out of the arbitration agreement above by sending written notice to support@scrubinformer.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Your notice must include your name, account email, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of arbitration. Opting out will not affect any other provision of these Terms.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll notify you of significant changes by:
- Posting a notice on our homepage
- Updating the “Last Updated” date
- For material changes, attempting to notify you by email
Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms.
13. Termination
You can delete your account anytime from your account settings.
We may terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination:
- Your account access will be revoked
- Your personal information will be handled per our Privacy Policy
- Your reviews may remain on the Site for site integrity, with your username replaced or anonymized at our discretion
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution) will continue to apply.
14. Miscellaneous
Severability
If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remain in effect.
No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right doesn’t waive that right.
Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Scrub Informer regarding your use of the Site.
