Aetna has been solid since CVS acquired them. The integration with CVS pharmacies is actually really convenient. I can pick up prescriptions fill out forms and even do basic health screenings at my local CVS. The app is well designed and I can find in network providers easily. Prior auths have been mostly painless for me but I have heard horror stories from others.

Three years on Aetna through work. Claims are processed quickly and the customer service has been helpful when I have called. The formulary is pretty standard. No major complaints. Just a solid reliable insurance plan that does what its supposed to do.

Good insurance overall. Wide network decent digital tools and the CVS MinuteClinic access is a nice perk for minor stuff. My issue is with their mental health coverage. Finding an in network therapist was nearly impossible in my area. I ended up going out of network and fighting for reimbursement which took months.

The website and portal are glitchy and honestly a headache. I tried filing a claim online and it kept crashing, had to start over multiple times. For a big insurer in 2026, that’s unacceptable.
